SCD Group of Institutions is a trusted educational institution in Northeast India, established under the Shambhar Chandra Dowarah Educational and Welfare Trust with a vision to provide quality education, skill development, and career-oriented professional training. Since its inception, SCD has been dedicated to nurturing competent professionals through industry-relevant programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, and various Paramedical disciplines. Our focus is on combining academic excellence with practical exposure, ensuring that students are well-prepared to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector.

LITTLE MORE ABOUT SHAMBHAR CHANDRA DOWARAH EDUCATIONAL AND WELFARE TRUST:

Shambhar Chandra Dowarah, was born in the year 1907 in Chetia Gaon, Chabua under undivided Lakhimpur district (Present Date-Dibrugarh district). He was a passionate and a dynamic student who always had a never-ending love with education. He didn’t belong to a very much financially strong family, yet he was successful in completing his M.E. from George High School with lots of dedication, hard work and struggle. During his struggling period for education, he felt the need of a primary school in his locality. In the year 1940 he successfully opened a primary school in Changmai Baruah Pathar Gaon collaborating with few of his friends. He never took teaching as a medium of earning and has worked without any pay for years, finally his hard work paid off and the school was granted. Later in the year 1975 he took retirement from the school as a Head master. But it was not the end of his dream, he always dreamt of establishing a higher education sector but due to his limitations of financial support and manpower he could not fulfil his dream. And in the year 1991 he departed leaving his dream behind.

Hence, with an aim of providing a center of academic excellence, Shambhar Chandra Dowarah Education and Welfare Trust was established in the year 2021 by his grandsons to turn his dream into reality and fulfil the need of a higher education hub in the society.

Message from the Chairman:

Today’s society demands high professionals with enriched ethos. Young talents need a nurturing environment to give their dreams a concrete shape. At SCD, we are focused on possibilities that can potentially change our life for the better. It is not only about finding better ways to life and our future. It is more about challenging the existing ones, if needed and innovating brand new paths to solve the unsolved problems. Education and Research, in our opinion, are our two most powerful tools to find such paths.

 Inclusion is another value which remains under-explored to a great extent. Inclusion- of ideas, people, diverse field of academic enquiry and innovative ways of application unlocks doors to possibilities. This is my conviction that SCD will deliver what you expect and need- in education or in business.
